Quality is the foundation of a product, the fundamental foundation for an enterprise to establish itself in the market and the guarantee for its development. The PDCA cycle is currently a relatively scientific quality management method that has been recognized by most enterprises. In actual quality control, quality engineers need to have sufficient theoretical knowledge, rich on-site experience, process flow, and good organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
An excellent quality engineer needs to achieve the following:
1、 Establish quality control objectives
If there is no goal in life, it will be tasteless and uninteresting, with no direction for effort and no motivation to strive. Establishing feasible goals is particularly important for quality management. The quality control department now has the conditions to establish quality objectives. It is planned to establish quality control objectives for incoming material qualification rate, rubber scrap rate, forming scrap rate, and customer complaint batches of shipped products in October.
2、 List quality control plan
If there is a goal, there must be a plan. A plan is a goal that is completed within a specified time frame and a decomposition of the goal. Seize the main KPI indicators and make quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily plans. Identify key control items based on customer classification, customer complaints, internal anomalies, and new product launches.
3、 Process supervision and execution
Any goal, no matter how perfect a plan is, lies in execution. Without execution power, it is utopian. Utopia cannot achieve the goal. We must not have heard of, said, read, or written about pulling down. We must implement and implement it, and have the determination to thoroughly solve problems. Regularly inspect various inspection reports and ERP records to ensure the quality of inspection and sampling. For special products, it is necessary to strengthen initial inspection, self inspection, spot check, and mutual inspection, and increase the frequency of specialized inspections appropriately according to the quality requirements and complexity of the product. In June 2023, BAI0085 experienced abnormal product quality, with a 30% pass rate and customers facing a crisis of production suspension. Through measures taken by departments such as technology, production, quality control, and equipment to continuously improve the rubber formula and molding process, assign personnel for vulcanization operations, and have engineers on duty for 24 hours, the product qualification rate has finally stabilized at 97.5%, ensuring normal delivery and resolving this delivery crisis.
4、 Exception handling
In practical work, various abnormalities may be encountered. Firstly, it is necessary to identify the cause of the abnormality, identify the cause of the outflow, formulate countermeasures, and prevent recurrence. Therefore, relevant methods and tools in quality management should be used:
The "Three Realism" refers to the present, present, and present; Confirm on site as soon as abnormalities occur;
2. Fully utilize the "seven step method": recording, statistics, analysis, identifying anomalies, countermeasures, implementation, and analysis;
3 Flexible use of five quality management tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP) and seven techniques (control chart, cause and effect chart, histogram, Pareto chart, checklist, layer method, Scatter plot).
5、 Regularly participate in training
The field of quality management is constantly developing and evolving, with new technologies, methods, and standards constantly emerging. Through continuous learning, one can understand the latest industry standards and trends, master new tools and technologies, and adapt to industry changes. Through this "FMEA Training Camp" training, we have gained a deeper understanding of the logic, methods, and techniques of FMEA, assisted other quality management tools, solidified and controlled our quality management methods, and improved our ability to identify, analyze, and control product quality risks.
